Studios / Courses

EPFL Architecture offers a range of academic programs, from a bachelor’s program, followed by a master’s program to a doctoral program, EDAR - Architecture and Sciences of the city, offered via the EPFL doctoral school, as well as advanced studies programs, MAS. Teaching is provided in two languages, French and English, and encourages interdisciplinarity, particularly within the ENAC faculty.

The architectural project developed in the design studios forms the core of the education program at both bachelor and master levels. Students are required to complete a one-year internship in order to access the master’s course, establishing a strong link with the professional discipline. The master’s curriculum is conceived as an open system, with a large percentage of courses being optional.

Convinced that the very foundation of our disciplines needs to be questioned and reevaluated, the curricula emphasize students’ empowerment, awareness and responsibility, by giving them the tools to personally think in a structured and engaged way, in view of a challenging future.
